EEG Trending is a quantitative approach to EEG analysis that extracts statistical features from the data that may not be immediately apparent in the raw EEG signal. Studies on quantitative EEG (qEEG) analysis have shown that it decreases the time required for EEG reviewers to screen long periods of EEG and to increase the efficiency of review by faster determination of which segments of the record require further in-depth review of the raw EEG signal.
Quantitative EEG and Trending can be particluarly important in centers with large patient monitoring volumes, allowing for gradual and fast changes in the EEG to be more accurately identified and quantified sooner.
